  1. No, I did not forget India.

In the past 7 years, India got the following placements.

    2015: Unplaced
    2016: Unplaced
    2017: Unplaced
    2018: Unplaced
    2019: Top 20
    2020: 3rd Runner-Up
    2021: Winner

Whilst India did well the past two editions, and managed a placement in 2019, unfortunately their combined performance does not warrant a spot on this list.

  2. PHILIPPINES PLACEMENTS
    2010: 4TH RUNNER UP
    2011: 3RD RUNNER UP
    2012: 1ST RUNNER UP
    2013: 3RD RUNNER UP
    2014: TOP 10
    2015: WINNER
    2016: TOP 6
    2017: TOP 10
    2018: WINNER
    2019: TOP 20
    2020: TOP 21
    2021: TOP 5
2022: Definitely a placement is still there ✅

  3. To quote Miss Hendriks – "Colombia always managed to get very, very close to the crown".

INDEED! Colombia has this peculiar – almost unbelievable way of getting so close to the crown. In fact in the 1992, 1993 and 1994 MU Editions – Colombia had a 3 consecutive 1st-Runner Up placements. Yes, to be 1st RU at the MU pageant is alrready an incredible accomplishent. But for that to happen to a country three years in a row is very frustrating and heartbreaking. It even came to be called "the Colombian Curse" at that time.

And just as we came to believe nothing could be more heartbreaking , their delegate at the 2015 edition took it to a whole new level . She was Miss Universe only for a few minutes. She didn't just come close to the crown. She had it in her head.! And then gone as we all know. Two things were lost in an instant – the glory of the crown and the feat of a back-to-back win.

It really is a good thing Colombia won in 2013. Somehow it kind of softened the blow….

So yes, Colombia is indeed a very accomplished competitor at tne Miss Universe. But also has this tendency to be at the receiving end of strange experiences at the same pageant.

  4. I don't agree with you, a country that almost always wins cannot be above one that has already done so, even though it had never been at the top before. This is the same in Olympic games, world games, etc.

  5. I think colombia replaced Venezuela now in many pageants my top 1 for me , second is puerto Rico very consistent , third domican republic they sending strong candidates, followed by brazil , my last is Venezuela they send always strong candidates maybe org looking for new countries for latin countries..not just for mis universe but for many pageants over all.. Philippines my top one coz consistent placements in mis universe and other major and minor pageants

  6. I really liked your video. Before your video, I always thought MU success was only measured in terms of winners. But when you present the trends in terms of placements, it really puts some perspective on how strong certain sashes / countries could be. Of course, being Colombian I see how pageants are lived here. But I also love seeing countries like South Africa, Philippines, Thailand, Venezuela, etc. succeed in MU. It becomes a great contest to watch when you see very strong contestants from multiple countries competing. When there is a clear winner, it is not as fun to watch. Much luck to this year's MU contestants.

  7. Venezuela tiene un record wue casi nadie sabe y es wue tubo 20 anos inenterrumpudamente clasificando desde 1983 a 2003. Es el pais MAS constante en clasificar.

  8. Well for me I am not expecting that Philippines would win I believe that a lot of Thai people are haters if the Philippines and also the owner now is Thai I think that it will decrease the chances of Celeste to win but I think that Philippines would get into the top 5

  9. I am from the Philippines but i would put SOUTH AFRICA as number ONE simply because they have the best record when it comes to the most important placements – that is to say, being in the top three. TWO MISS UNIVERSES and TWO FIRST RUNNER UPS. The Philippines only has two winners and no runner ups, although a top five and a top six would make it the runner up to SOUTH AFRICA.

Congratulations to you for doing very very well in the recently concluded Miss Earth!!! I had her as one of my faves.

  10. "Thank you", I believe, is an understatement for the kind words that you said about the Philippines. We are really taking our pageants here in the Philippines very seriously and our chosen delegates compete very proudly and squarely once they're already in the international stage. Thank you once again for the love and respect you're giving to our beloved country, the beautiful PHILIPPINES. 😊😊😊

  11. I actually have Ms Sharpey on my Top 20 lisr for Miss Universe 2022. If she can deliver a great close door interview with her stage presence she might be on the top 20 list. Good Luck Ms Sharpey

  12. I think 15, 16, 17 and 18 India did not send the right embarrassed but what I admire about India is that they always except their non placement and this year 2023 they are coming with a very strong contender!”❤so watch out!!
