To be honest I think these "wrong winner announcements" are staged. Remember when it happened during the Oscars? It felt so fake and forced. It's just a publicity stunt to get some attention. I mean, these envelopes are written as clearly as possible to avoid mistakes. It's really not a rocket science.

You are incorrect about statement about Miss Columbia and Steve Harvey. Everyone has KNOWN they mended that and she forgave him completely and says even in the moment she forgave him because they’re all human. That entire quote is false from her, please don’t try to depict pageant contestants in a bad light especially any of those women.
Rather than being angry, that girl should thank Steve Harvey that she was queen for 2.5 minutes…..more than she may ever be in her life

In 2015, i was watched the Miss Universe on Indosiar (Indonesia) (Live Delay Version). I am watched that show from start to finish until the last segment. In that moment, Steve Harvey announces Ariadna Gutiérrez (Colombia) as the 2015 Miss Universe winner. But, something wrong and maybe shocked us were happened when Steve apologizes to all audience on the venue that the crown not belongs to Colombian side, but it was crowned by Pia Alonzo Würtzbach (Philippines). The last one was very surprising me. I hope there is so many lessons from that one so the mistake of that show won't be happened again. This years Miss Universe was delayed due to Corona Pandemic so we should wait for few weeks to get the show started. At least august, september, october or november will be very ideal to be held that show if the number of confirmed corona cases was very decent.
