A mother was distraught when she showed up to her childās daycare a few minutes late to find that her 2-year-old had been locked inside the facility – alone! Stephanie Martinez, who was just 15 minutes late picking up her daughter, understandably freaked out. She called 911 for help, and the operator was shocked at the situation she described. The toddler had to push a chair to the door to stand on, in order to call out to her mother. Stephanie watched helplessly as she called out āMommy!ā..(read more at source)

Im sure this is the very first time she came late š
I dont even want to know what else they have been negligible with
This is so upsetting!! Shame on that daycare!!
this is funny LOL
Day care worker: literally endangers and potentially traumatized child. These comments: mom's a horrible person for being 15 minutes late. She should have telephoned.
Fired is more like it… You can't "retrain" a person with no heart.
Fire that irresponsible employee, and a110% assist is their prosecution, to the fullest. Then that employee should be fully restricted from ever caring for a minor for the rest of their miserable life.
This is why you donāt use daycare, a mother is a better parent than a minimum wage worker lmao
Poor girl
What a coincidence
Re-trained??? They should be fired! Period!
"Nothing is more important to us than the safety of the children in our care" literally EVERY school says lmao
she may be calm but imagine the trauma she got from this incident
āRetrainedā bro.. what?? You donāt have to work at a daycare to know not to leave a child alone like that..
That daycare should be fined and closed down!!
Heres your retraining – DONT LOCK A DAMN CHILD INTO A BUILDING LIKE A MORON.
Honestly if that was me the day care workers would have come back to smashed glass and doors
Bruhhhhhhhhh
It seems the adults were more worked up than the kid during all of this. Still, I expect a daycare to know the whereabouts of all the kids in their care.
You don't close when one is still inside. A simple check was all that was needed.
100% not good enough. Close it down.
That poor baby
Break the god damn windows!!!!
what a good mother, being sarcastic here.
this is messed up
Shouldnāt the mother call the place to tell them sheās running late?
That mom was likely more than 15 minutes late but that makes it even worse on the workers that's a lawsuit plus criminal charges
I would sue the hell out of them
It shouldnāt happen in ducking first place
Where was the dad? Why couldn't he show up to pick up his daughter if the mom was going to be late?
Damn the worker wanted to go home that bad.
Any number of things could have happened to that child. They're very lucky all they lost was the door.
Not many things upset or let alone make me cry, but this made me cry.
15 minuets alone in a dark room must've felt like hours to this poor baby. She probally thought her mom forgot about her š
Now, think a little. There is no way someone knew the kid was inside and locked the doors and left with kid inside. OK? She was probably hiding and they probably do not have parent register sheet where each parent has to sign off they picked their kid and as a result, worker though the daycare was empty and all kids have been picked up. This is logistic issue. Have parents sign off when they come and check the list before closing.
For anyone saying mom was at fault for being 15 min late, things happen, traffic, job sometimes mom canāt get out at the time she was supposed to. Regardless the daycare workers should have never left that child alone, actually most daycare penalize the parents with an extra fee for being late to pick up their kids.
There's a day care here that did the same plus charged 5 dollars a minute. I with drew my kids got private. Year later they were closed down for abuse and neglect. Lock center and you were not allow to visit. Just drop off, pickup.
Bro I grew up on kinder care
š„ŗš„ŗš„ŗ
I'm older than her and I would have been tearing the whole place down
Poor child
wow they really said "this kind of thing" they could've used the word incident or something
what a smart girlš„ŗ
KINDERCARE LEARNING CENTER IN PLANTATION, FLORIDA.
This is disgusting! One time when I was in I think Grade six my parents were late for HOURS and yet the Receptionist kept trying to call everyone they could. My mom, my dad, my grandparents. It was in the winter and Iām from Canada and didnāt have my key with me so even though I was old enough to walk home and my house wasnāt to far my principal DROVE me home and to my neighbours to get my spare key. It was terrifying even not just knowing where my parents were or what they were doing. But at least the staff did their job even if we did wait for HOURS. The fact that this TWO YEAR OLD had to wait in a locked building by herself because the staff wasnāt willing to wait a few more minutes is unbelievable. They shouldnāt be āretrainedā they should be fired. This is child endangerment.
This is what happens when you don't care about the quality of an employee anymore, Owners and managers hire anyone nowadays and it's not only careless but dangerous!
