  1. As someone who grew up in glitz pageantry (and help coach glitz girls), I also hate the ā€œglitz handā€. But now Iā€™m freaking out wondering if I do it without even realizing when I competeā€¦šŸ‘€šŸ˜‚

  2. You are right on with the ā€œwe need to come togetherā€ safe answer. Oh man. That and ā€œthank you judges for your interesting questionā€ which seems like a buying time move but it takes away at least 5 precious seconds šŸ˜¬ youā€™re right on when you say, did they do their hmwk on the topic or not?

  3. @daniwalker definitely the chunky platform shoes, if you are a shorter contestant and wear a platform shoes but everyone is wearing the same, you are still shorter than them. Another one id like to go away is by saying ā€œ the best version of myself or meā€

  4. On the advocacy, I think we should stop the notion that if a girl doesnā€™t have an advocacy, sheā€™s less of a woman. Advocacy is like our purpose in life (sort of) and sometimes it takes time for someone to realize that. I would rather want to see someone who doesnā€™t have an advocacy yet than someone who is faking it.

  5. For me, the fan votes which should be go away, it's pretty unfair for some candidates who's coming from countries that pageant wasn't a big deal but their candidate was stunning and worthy to be part of the final pick šŸ˜Š

  6. The pageant trend I would like to end is the trend of cancelling candidates because of their socio-political beliefs. Right now, if a candidate's beliefs are not completely LEFT, then she doesn't deserve the crown and she doesn't deserve to exist. The WOKE LEFT have effectively bullied and shamed women to silence if they don't agree with Leftist ideology. If a candidate is brave enough to speak out, then she is harassed and shamed. The Woke love to preach about diversity, but interestingly enough, they are very intolerant when it comes to diversity of thought.

  7. I had to giggle about the tippy tops. My daughter is 5'9". In the tippy tops she is quite tall. The thing is the tippy tops make her the exact height to perfectly fit a Sherri Hill gown without needing hemming. She ended up defaulting to them because of that. In 2014 She had a Jr teen state title and was expected to have tippy tops to wear with cocktail dresses. She wore them through her teen titles as well. She won the state title in teen and had to wear them for appearances again. They were great for raffle ticket sales where a set price gave you tickets as tall as her since she was about 6'4' in them when including the crown. LOL She would happily throw them away in favor of a more comfortable shoe. If she did a Miss Pageant. an appropriate dress would probably expose the shoes, and she would choose a different style.

  8. I want YELLING your state or countryā€™s name in introductions to end. Everyone does it at all pageants now and they are instructed to do so. But it gives me a headache and the truth is you look UGLY when yelling. Go back and watch a pageant from the 1970s and se e how pretty everyone looks when introducing themselves in a normal voice. PLEASE end yelling introductions

  9. I agree with the tippy tops, I want them gone completely! And the Catriona copycats, itā€™s never a good idea to copy another winner, especially since pageants promote authenticity and originality! Iā€™d really love to see the ā€œmesh trendā€ go away, which are gowns that have that nude mesh neckline up top giving the illusion that the gown is so well fitted that it appears to be ā€œpaintedā€ on a contestant when really the gown is being held by that nude mesh. Catrionaā€™s gown was I guess the start of that trend. As beautiful as her lava gown was I canā€™t stand the mesh trend! Thatā€™s all for my input on trends Iā€™d love to see go away! Mahalo!

  10. Things I do not like. Gowns with shorts, gowns with little mirrors, gowns that show too much. Agree with you on all these trends and i also do not like all the plastic surgery

  11. The word "actually" being overused in interview/Q&A. There should be trigger words that a contestant should avoid at all costs. Try to avoid "um" or "uh" despite being nervous. Listen very carefully when doing Q&A because I hate the response "can/could you (please) repeat the question?" That just tells me you heard the question clearly but are trying to buy time to think of an answer while the question is being repeated. I've heard the word 'cause/coz used in interview/Q&A and I think using the word "because" is more proper. I think the huge bun needs to go away. I agree that the platform heels should be used if not visible with a gown and that non-platform strappy heels are always on trend. And over-accessorizing can be distracting and needs to stop as well.
