The Galileo going to house arrest for saying, “the earth goes around the sun” is not technically correct. He was told not to publish that. Then, he went to attack The Church and the Pope (slander). Destroying his long time friendship with the Pope. Then, because Status is Status is Status, The Holy See got him (because of slander, mainly and publishing his work without proof). Then on his trial the prosecutors asked for his life and as an act of mercy, the Pope asked for the house arrest.
Funny, no one talks about how Galileo was greeted and given the best of treatments by Church Scientists, but I’m not surprised since the story has been confused by the W.A.S.P. establishment. Just like their lies and exaggerations from dark periods of the archdiocese, not so much of The Church itself.
Extra History Point: The Prosecutor in the trials of Galileo and Giordano Bruno was the same individual and was “quoted” by Thomas Jefferson when Jefferson wrote the first draft of the Declaration of Independence of these USA. 😎
