Japan has had 1/2 white and 1/2 Japanese women compete and win. But there was no outrage/criticism then. It's not because of the fact that she's not "Japanese enough" it's because of the fact that she's 50% black. She's beautiful. I'm glad she won.

She's very pretty and definitely deserved to win. She's half Japanese, so why should she look Japanese? It's about time. She's not the first half Japanese girl to compete in Miss Japan Universe. Many half Japanese-half European girls have competed in the past and should have won. However, it's great that a half Japanese-half Black girl made history by becoming the very first half Japanese Miss Japan. Congratulations, Ariana! You earned that crown.
