She burst onto the American scene in the 1970s – a curvaceous Spanish spitfire flaunting a beauty pageant’s worth of glamorous gowns, towering wigs, and infectious cuchi-cuchi charm. Charo quickly became a beloved TV staple with her exuberant flamenco guitar playing and amusing mangling of English phrases in her thick accent. Her trademark expression “cuchi-cuchi” even entered pop culture lexicon.

I remember her with Xavier Cugat on many late night talk shows in the 1960's. Beautiful woman..that ditzy act was part of her talent. I didn't know she had remarried. "Coochie, coochie!". đđ
She was always so bubbly, hard not to have a smile on your face with her energy facing you.
I loved seeing her on the Merv Griffin Show in the 70âs. She was so charming and funny, always shocking Merv and making us all laugh. Such a sweetheart and a very talented guitarist. đđ»
She appeared on the Carol Burnett show. Carol did a parody of her as Charo's mother. Charo commented " she does me better than I do."
Great video, but a couple of notes. Her actual age has been a subject of debate for many years, and 1948, 47 has been on the table due to how old she would have been when she married Xavier Cugat. Also, she was in many shows in the 70s and 80s, but never on Dynasty! Love love love Charo!
I tho she died
Wow really
While growing up every time I turned on the TV Charo was entertaining us. What a lovely memory and still look for her. Thank you for honoring her husband, her, and true love.
Charo is a top tier musician. Spanish Guitar.
Her Flamenco guitar.
I donât have a singular memory of her that would stand out, but to Me, Charo manifests as all THE GOOD PARTS of the 1970s and since. I watched this because she genuinely always makes Me grin whenever I see, hear, or even think of Her. Itâs not every day, by any stretch, but think about that for a moment. She literally causes smiles on complete strangers faces. Has been for sixty years, apparently. Stay Blessed, and thank You, Charo.
She is amazing
His name was Xavier Cugat, not Javier Cugat.
She reminds me of Tina Turner.
Merv Griffen?
I loved Charo! She was not just pretty and charming. She was witty and funny.
Looks like a Spanish Dolly Parton
When asked about why the kutchy kutchy koo and not her classical guitar she said the kutchy paid her bills.
All of them.
I remember seeing her on The Mike Douglas show and I found her very interesting and different from other stars
This is so sad. She shouldn't feel guilty about what happened. I do understand why she does, though.
Great presentation on Charo !
She was, and STILL is a beatiful , and very talented Lady to this day !
BellĂsima persona … Charo â€
She was a world-class musician.
She always had so much energy such a beautiful Ladyđ
Charo Has Been On The Love Boat â” Series More Times Than Sonny Bono đź!
While she was advertising Macco the automobile paint shop my uncle had a one-night stand.
