This movie is so stylistic it hurts. Absolutely stunning. This is now my favorite version of Beauty and the Beast.
I felt it fell apart a little in the third act, but still, everything about this worked. I just wish it was longer. Still breath-taking.
New comfort movie unlocked
I like the 2017 version a lot better! This doesnโt give me any Beauty and the Beast vibes whatsoever. This is only my opinion.

I think I saw this years ago, and seem to remember liking it well because it was NOT animated, but a little more realistic. Lots to see and digest here !;๐๐๐
Pathe films has made pretty outstanding film s over the years. Partly because they don't pay actors ridiculously huge salaries. They put more money into other aspects of moviemaking.
I was confused cause the prince and doe were to bare a heir I thought that would be the beast not the same guy lol oh well.

I'm super disappointed with the development of "love" between Belle and Beast. The Beast is a former prince who was dismissive of his original wife, demanded offspring from her, and ultimately murdered her. He's punished, and through the course of this movie, exhibits instantaneous Lima Syndrome with (apparently) the first woman that enters his hidden castle. Belle is Ms. Stockholm Syndrome, who "falls in love" near immediately following rational refusal of the Beast. The Beast provides Belle nice dresses, beautiful grounds to explore, and fills her head with dreams intended to invoke empathy for the past willful decisions of a complete narcissist. When the Beast accidentally near-drowns the subject of "love," he reconciles his guilt by "gifting" the bounty of a broken promise. Does this seem abusive to anyone else? Yuck. What a gross and perfect example of how love shouldn't be.
