  1. Basically, they have entered one of Japan's famous red-light districts. Yoshiwara did actually exist! But once prostitution was banned, and brothels were forced to close down, it's become just a regular shopping district. It's completely modernized now. Wasn't a super great place to be because women were sold to the brothels there to pay off debts.

Oiran are the top ranking prostitutes in the industry at the time. They were above the client and always had the final say. She would visit 3 times before deciding if the client was worthy of her services, and she also was highly learned and multi-talented. The children accompanying her are children of the brothel assigned to take care of her, like personal maids. When visiting clients, there is always a procession, and the Oiran must walk in a certain way with high platforms to show that she is graceful and refined, a woman of such high caliber that most cannot even afford the 1st visit.

  2. こんにちは!日本から見ています☺
    we have candy! ここのシーンは面白いですねw
    コロナが収まったら、ぜひ日本に来てくださいね!

  3. My favourite scene is when the lady with the cigarette both completely understands and misunderstands Zenko-chan's situation. Yes. Get back at the man who left you as cheap dinnertime entertainment.

  4. I think the make-up is purely to distinguish them as young girls who are looking to be given away, because Inouske was spotted in the crowd and Tengen didn't have to promote Inoko or anything.

  5. Tengen and rengoku have been terrific big brother like figures to these boys. Mainly tanjiro, but tengen gets a longer arc. Tengen punching on them like his little brothers is hilarious

  6. I love how the entire fandom just immediately offers themselves as tribute for Tengen. Abi out here already plotting to replace one of them asap. Loving the thirst for sure, it's been a while.

  7. Tanjiro received Rengoku’s sword guard (called “tsuba” in Japanese) from his brother. I guess Tanjiro didn’t feel worthy enough to have it on his sword (his current sword guard is black and circular with radiating spokes like a cart wheel). If Tanjiro breaks or loses his sword again, perhaps he could have it attached to the next one. Of course, we can expect Haganezuka (the sword smith) to be super pissed, haha.

Unfortunately, Yoshiwara Yuukaku (this red light district / entertainment district) is no longer in existence. I was established in the 1600s in the city of Edo (modern day Tokyo) by the Tokugawa Shogunate and lasted until 1958 (I think) when the modern Japanese government following WWII banned prostitution. It was damaged by a large fire during the Taisho Era (the time this anime is set in) and further damaged by the Great Kanto Earthquake some time in the 1920s. If it were still in existence today, it would be north of Asakusa, which itself is a place you should visit as it’s famous for the large lantern at the gate and the many traditional shops leading up to the temple.

And though you won’t be able to see and appreciate such a traditional flashy place such as Yoshiwara, there are beautiful places that still have traditional buildings or feelings, such as Kyoto city in the Kansai area (west Japan), Kamakura and Ko-edo (in Kawagoe city in Saitama) in the Kanto area (east Japan) which are within an hour train ride from Tokyo.

The instrument that Zenitsu was expertly playing is a shamisen. A koto is a large, lengthy harp of sorts that you play using finger picks, with sounds adjusted using movable bridges. It makes sense that Zenitsu can play both after one listen as his sense of hearing is superhuman.

  8. Hey, do you want a designer who knows how to design a logo, thumbnails, intro design and also a graphic designer? I'm a designer and I have experience 😊

  9. Tanjiro is literally a princess. He wears makeup, has a pure heart, has a crow as his animal sidekick, and most importantly, he ain't got no mom anymore.

  10. why doing this arc like this , Jisus i love these as a team, not like this, Abi is great and funny but these are some important reactions, I would have preferred a thousand times to wait a month or two more to see the reactions as a team, and for Abi to react alone in any other minor show, but not in this one, if you don't agree with me and you enjoy it that way, good for you, I'm not here to debate, but I need to express my disappoint every time I see the thumbnail as a solo reaction

Hoping Imon gets better and reintegrates with these
