Today we have Drag Race Philippines Reaction to the Meet the Queens video introducing the queens of Drag Race Philippines Season One. The Episode One of Drag Race Philippines has not premiered yet but I wanted to become familiar with the drag queens by watching the ”Meet the Queens” video posted on the @discovery plus Philippines YouTube Channel.
Drag Race Philippines is the newest addition to the wildly popular show Rupaul’s Drag Race and it will focus on the talent, skills, creativity or Pinoy beauty queens. Drag race fans have been asking for a Philippines franchise for years and their plea has been finally answered.
Drag Race Philippines will introduce the world to the uniqueness, nerve and talent of The Philippines. As a fan of Drag and Filipino Culture, I am beyond excited for these queens to show the world what they are made of and what their country has to offer.

i only found out about the term "drag queens" recently, and it's from international media. i think it's not really heard of widely here yet. definitely not much representation.
For me the best referenced look for a jeepney is what Turing came up with. It embodies not the physicality of the jeep but its story. The small towels were called "good morning towel" typically used by jeepney drivers to wipe their sweat as they hustle the hot streets, and the money and hands tells the story of the passengers inside it. In the philippine the normal seating capacity of a jeepney is around 16-20 person, so passengers from the other end passes their fare to the next person until it reaches the driver. I got goosebump with how her outfit tells this story as majority of Filipinos have the same daily experience.
Kudos to the girls! So much passion for the arts.
