I totally had forgotten how funny this movie is.

The only reason I rewatch this masterpiece from time-to-time is for the empty overalls being left in the car door… and then I'm pleasantly surprised I forgot it's a treat from start to finish.
After another YouTube day filled with demoralizing cascades of angry Karens and lunatic sovereign citizens and all manner of angry, aggressive, self-righteous miscreants, what a joy it was to just settle in with his movie, which provided just the right mix of sweet and sour, peppered with a wonderful mix of belly laughs and heartwarming reminders that people aren't as bad as all that, via a quirky and insightful script that made sure everybody got what was coming to them, both good and bad.
I thought it would be much better movie with such a great cast ! Acting of most of actresses is superb, Amy Adams, Denise Richards & Kirsten Dunst so young & beautiful ! But the ending just proves how ridiculous the whole story was. All these sacrifices, murder & cheating just for one contest ?
I saw this in the theater (way before YouTube, etc,) no less than 4 times.
It hit me at the right time.
It was before Amy Adams was a legit actress, but wow she has it all!

As a kid I thought the girl had survived the explosion. Nah, she was engulfed in flames.
Kirstie alley ended up being a horrible person. Scientologist that supports violence and the cover up of Shelly M, as well as telling people they deserves to get sick or that anyone on the spectrum โchose a broken vesselโ and is their faults. She and John travoltas wife could have loved so long of Scientology allowed them to get Cancer treatments.
Shocking for a 90s movie because this is meant to make fun of small towns

This movie is so fascinating, not only for its humor but because thereโs so many now famous actors in it.
Didn't realize I've seen this before. Had no idea what I put on but I definitely remember it now. This is a great cast. Denise Richards, Kirsten Dunst, Britney Murphy, Kirstie Alley, Ellen Barkin.
1999 was also when Girl Interrupted was released (with Britney Murphy, Angelia Jolie and Winona Rider).
Virgin Suicides with Kirsten Dunst was released in 2000, so a year later.
For some reason this reminds me of Best In Show which was also released in 2000.
Lots of great movies around this time.
I dream of one day watching this in a real theater and everyone in the audience yelling out their favorite lines ร la Rocky Horror Picture Show.
