Today we’re talking about the newest controversy surrounding Ballerina Farm, or Hannah Neeleman, an influencer who sparked debate after posting about preparing for the Mrs. World pageant 12 days post-partum. We discuss whether this type of content is harmful to women and how we should see ourselves in comparison to what we see on social media. Then, what is the “Fed Is Best” movement, and what propaganda are we seeing among those who argue formula is just as good for babies as breast milk? We examine this and reveal the truth about breast milk. We also take a look at a Babylon Bee joke that has even fellow conservatives up in arms and why we all need to learn to take a joke again.

  1. I tried to breastfeed for the first month and it was incredibly difficult. I had supply issues unfortunately because I was separated from my son at birth due to dangerous health issues and I wasnā€™t able to room with him for two days so we missed the important bonding time and I have PCOS. I tried so hard and I just couldnā€™t keep up. I was so devastated. Iā€™m so grateful that I can supplement with formula but I still wish I couldā€™ve breastfed because it really is the best choice.

  2. I have been nursing or pregnant since 2006. I was able to breastfeed all of my babies. Unfortunately, my ninth baby born in 2023, was not able to breastfeed. He had oral ties and could not extract the milk properly. After getting revisions and therapies he still would not take the breast. It has been devastating. I solely pumped for his first 4 months, but unfortunately had to stop due to the pump causing injury to me as well as severe pumping aversion. He is now on an organic formula, but I will still say breast is best because that is fact. It is crazy how people want to change facts to make themselves feel better.

  3. I breastfed my 3 babies for 2 years each, and it was the best decision I ever made. Every one of my kids had different challenges breastfeeding, but we moved forward and made it through 2 years. This is my first time clicking on this channel, and you made good points. I used to worked in a postpartum unit, and I learned and gained so much knowledge. My mom tried to breastfeed me, but couldnā€™t. I know, I wouldnā€™t be able to breastfeed also because no one really talks about it. So, yes! ā€œbreast is bestā€!

  4. Hannah is the most genuine, carrying loving lady. If she has a team that can help her get ready for such an event, letā€™s cheer her on and not judge her.
Iā€™m not going to be watching this video, because I donā€™t believe someone should be scrutinizing another woman like this

  5. Oh goodness! I love this topic! I have four children, and the trigger for women in our liberal society runs deep. They have reasons they are not having children and when they see people having children and thrive they are literally offended.

  6. Allie- arenā€™t your children in daycare while you talk about these thingsšŸ˜¢ I will pray you see the importance of raising your own children.
    Titus 2:3-5.

Ballerina is wealthy and has housekeeper and nanny most likely..

  7. Good for her if she can get herself back together after a baby. She probably has a great support system. There are definitely women who can do that. Some of us are like slugs for months after babyšŸ˜‚ thatā€™s life. Itā€™s not always even.

  8. OPEā€¦how about you bring her on to your show and have THIS discussion. šŸ™‚šŸ™ƒ the more I watch this channel, the more I realize how judgmental she isā€¦but wait, arenā€™t Christianā€™s supposed to NOT do that? Oh okā€¦ šŸ™ƒ Iā€™ll be sure to let her know so she can address YOU.

  9. Mama Neeleman has done this before.. she knew this pageant was coming..

So She was preparing her body, and she has amazing support system and she knows what it takes…

I am sure everyone at the pageant was helping her EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.. with some early nights and late mornings…
She probably had amazing corsette-body shaper too!

    Etc. Etc..
Please Ballerina mama Neeleman lets HEAR from you about all the VERY DIFFICULT Stuff that you experienced and had to manage to make it to & thru pageant…

Did your mom & sisters or who came with you to this pageant post partum proces & journey?? 22:24

  10. 24:35 I agree that itā€™s unrealistic for MOST people. But donā€™t just say a blanket statement that itā€™s unrealistic. Obviously, itā€™s realistic for HER – assuming that everything on their channel has integrity, and that sheā€™s telling the truth about everything – because this IS her current reality! Therefore, obviously, it IS realistic for her! šŸ˜‚ so with all due respect, donā€™t say itā€™s not realistic, or imply that itā€™s harmful. šŸ™‚

  11. My issue with "fed is best" is that it implies that people are telling you to starve your baby. No one is saying that, therefore "fed is best" is not an argument. If you can't breastfeed, don't beat yourself up for it. But breastfeeding is superior. We need to stop lying to women.

  12. I actually had to gain weight after birthing all three babies in order to keep my supply strong enough to keep breastfeeding. You have to let your self image go and make your baby your priority. Easier said than done.

  13. After your interview with Lynn Wilder, I was really wondering how many of the homesteader influencers might be Mormon, as it makes a lot of sense to me that they could be. There are some types that I am not as interested in, and Ballerina Farm has not yet caught my eye enough, even if I would like to do some of the same things myself someday (the way she made butter threw me off because it was just TOO messy for me). What she has going for her in my eyes is very pretty stuff, I guess.

I'm also more interested in longer-form information on homesteading; not reels. I want to know how to do things. I don't want to just pine after something pretty (though that can serve as motivation).

I am going to have to think about what I think about this movement being, potentially, made more of Mormons than what I would think of as Bible-believing Christians. It matters to me to be pursuing the right, realistic direction; the reasons for Mormons to do these things are different than my reasons. There is no guarantee of happiness and success in doing these things; there has to be a better, deeper reason for doing them (or one as simple as one's health).

  14. Love that you pointed the finger back at those criticizing Hannah/Ballerina Farm. Itā€™s a heart issue. How some people can go on someone elseā€™s page and criticize them/take offense at their life is incredibly childish. I donā€™t get it. Those people need to stay off of social media and just focus their own lives.

  15. Currently 1 day post partum and if she heals that quickly and is up for it, GOOD FOR HER. Itā€™s her body her choice. Women need to stop comparing to each other. If she makes you bitter, thats a YOU problem sis. She probs had a a natural birth at home and didnā€™t tear. Sheā€™s Allgoods. Happy for her that she can dress up and feel that beautiful that soon after having a baby. Itā€™s wonderful!!

  16. Iā€™ve never danced ballet but have always followed it. Many ballerinas have babies and almost immediately look fit and return to dancing soon. Sheā€™s not unique for a ballerina. They are incredible athletes.

  17. I don't know all the ins and outs, but it is my understanding that as a company that manufacturers and markets infant formula, the FDA regulations are so strict, they basically give you a list of ingredients that have to be included in the formula, which is why if you look at the ingredient list it is basically identical between brands. There are brands that make "toddler formula" that have a much better ingredient list that is suitable for Infants, but they can't market it that way without seed oils etc. That's what I did with my last baby after breastfeeding.

  18. There are a lot of things that pregnant women are encouraged to do that hinder recovery and weight control. Many cultures encourage pregnant women to keep moving and working in order to have an easier labor. They also encourage the woman to not overeat. However, in America encourage the opposite. And gaining a lot of weight in pregnancy (sometimes it can't be avoided) is considered expected. The baby, extra blood volume, water, etc is about 35 pounds.

  19. Anyone whoā€™s followed Ballerina Farm for long enough knows that sheā€™s super chill, but busy. She likes minimal lifestyle and cooking from scratch. Her life is attainable, but takes hard work and consistency. Plus, many hands make light work, and sheā€™s got that covered! I truly enjoy her content.

  20. I wanted to give my kids breast milk. I got to with some (shorter or longer) and at least gave all my kids the colostrum first before weaning. But there's many reasons that people choose to stop, and I think it's important to not only consider your baby's health but also yours and the whole family. Sometimes we can be better and healthier moms to our older kids when our babies are fed differently. Sometimes it's mental health issues or repeated infections or the length between when we feel God wants us to have more kids or having several NICU babies or losing too much weight when breastfeeding for long periods that may necessitate different choices. While breast milk is better nutritionally, it's not always the best choice for the whole family at the time. I'm glad we each get to choose what's best for our unique circumstances, and I'm glad there are other options for those who need it.

  21. I had to do that. I had to get off social media and just my devices period since I had postpartum depression as well after having my kid. I was comparing too much and seeing things which made me just cry cry cry so I did what was best for me and my child… get off social media. Before, I would be the mom that would complain but by God's help in getting healthier and recovering, I can say now that I agree that we shouldn't complain but rejoice in that great Hannah can do this for herself with her life and I don't have to.

  22. She has support that most of us donā€™t have. I say good for her. I wish that we as a society would be more inclusive as a family that God intended us to be, and be more supportive and helpful to moms. With everyone working a set schedule itā€™s hard to even take care of our immediate family.

  23. I do not think ANYONE should feel bad about themselves when comparing to Ballerina Farms, unless they so happen to ALSO be EXTREMELY privileged as Hannah Neeleman is to have come from a wealthy family, been raised doing pageants, marry an heir to billions of dollars (therefore extremely wealthy themselves). Her husbands family owns JetBlue and they have HIRED HELP.

This family is essentially lying to the world and larping as a humble homestead family that turns that crap on and off for the cameras. OF COURSE THEY WOULD too because they're making millions off of that content. A humble poor country wife for 3 minutes for the Reels during the day and a pampered princess all the rest of the time. She seems to do it all but only does whatever she wants when she wants. Everyone would be able to do what shes doing if in her shoes. Shes fake and fake isn't something I aspire to.

Allie, you really missed the mark on this one.

  24. I couldnā€™t agree more. Iā€™m also a baby boomer and stay clear of ā€œinfluencersā€ on social media. I follow Christ and not celebrities. When God chooses to bless us with a platform we have a responsibility to make sure we are not glorifying ourselves. I donā€™t see anyone whose life is ā€œunattainableā€ as a positive role model.

  25. This story just proves how messed up women are today. I am 63 years old & could care less how other women live. It just shows how social media has negatively impacted our society. I thank God it was not a part of most of my life. Get your eyes off the screens people & live your own life not someone elses.

  26. She is a rollmodel for our girls! A dream, a fantasy, a what if. Lets jump behind each other with support for showing our children that your dreams can come true AND be a super mom. It's good!

  27. The very sad part about all of her hard work is that it will all amount to nothing if she dies without Christ as Savior, that dreamy life will end in everlasting fire without Christ šŸ˜¢, that wealth and her religious affiliation are actually a curse, and all those beautiful childrenšŸ˜, Ietā€™s just pray she gets saved

  28. I think when people say she is able to do whatever she wants , she left that when she became such a big influencer. She influences other moms. Unfortunately that is this social media life. She does have a teacher that comes and teaches her children so she can work on other parts of her business. She doesnā€™t show her whole life to everyone. Thatā€™s her choice. But donā€™t get it wrong that she does it all.
She chooses to show her children and birth her children on the internet. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø do with this what you may.

  29. I agree ā€œbreast is bestā€. I also know that formula can be an appropriate choice. Iā€™m 6.5 weeks postpartum with my first baby. I struggled a ton with breastfeeding her. I had severe pain and low supply, despite meeting with four different lactation consultants for multiple appointments, having her tongue tie clipped, trying medication, trying pumping, etc. I so badly wanted to breastfeed my baby, but it was taking a serious toll on my mental health. After 4.5 weeks of struggling, my husband and I decided to exclusively formula-feed our baby. I felt sad and disappointed, but also relieved. Itā€™s so nice that feeding my sweet baby is no longer stressful for me. Iā€™m sharing this in hopes that it will encourage another mom who is where I was ā¤

  30. I don't care what other women do postpartum, but I'm going to wear my giant diaper and snuggle with my newborn baby in bed. šŸ˜‚ That sounds like heaven to me! I will happily clap for women being a different kind of amazing than me, and not compare myself to someone that has a $35,000 stove. Good for her, good for me.
