  1. When I was going to prom (many decades ago) I picked a hair salon named Vincent et Juliette out of the yellow pages because I thought sounded fancy. 😅 When I got there, my blood ran cold because I realized I had picked an ‘old lady’ salon. All I could picture was walking into the prom looking like the Golden Girls. It was too late to back out so I asked for an up-do and hoped for the best. The stylist was super nice and really seemed to know her game. She asked me the style and neckline of my gown, and what earrings and/or necklace I planned to wear. The first thing she did was wash my hair, set it in rollers, and put me under the dryer. When I was dry, she brushed it out and sculpted it back off my face and neck, pinned it, and then proceeded to pin all these big, beautiful, rolled curls into place. Couldn’t see a single pin!! When I walked out of there I had a halo of voluminous rolled curls at the crown of my head, with just the right amount of delicate tendrils around the face. I felt like a movie star! Everyone told me I had the prettiest hair at prom!! And bonus, it stayed put and looking ‘just done’ the whole night! It’s an experience I still look back on fondly 27 years later. ❤

  2. I used to love styles like this when I wore my hair relaxed. It works best if you let it dry really well! I have thin strands so no matter how long it grew, I'd have this flatness that rollers always helped with.

  3. Omg you look just like my mom every Saturday morning when i was little like 50 years ago. Those curlers and those pins!! I now have fine limp hair and have been looking for setting lotion for quite a while. Im so excited a beautiful young woman has found these tried and true techniques. I was just talking to my sister about spit curls and the pink tape that held them down over night.
