Edit: No! Lauren Nelson in 2007 and Kirsten Haglund in 2008!!!

Of Course She won! I met her when I was an undergrad in Philadelphia. Very down-to-earth. She gave a brief speech, naturally transitioned to the piano where she played and sang. Afterward, shook hands with us, took pics and signed autographs. She made it all look so easy.
I am 40 years old from Tennessee. I remember watching this with my parents. My mother and I were so happy she won!!! September 1986 seems like yesterday.

Thank you for posting clips from this pageant. I remember many details, and haven't watched this in perhaps a quarter century. This too was the last Miss America I had on beta tape, before I started recording on VHS, but sadly many tapes vanished by the 90's. Please continue sharing these great pageants from our past!

I'm a great fan and have most of the pageant shows from this era and the 90's on beta video, but unfortunately, they have deteriorated badly, Would you happen to have any of the opening numbers and production numbers from 1987, 1985, and 1983?
