  1. So much talent to appreciate highly! I was particularly blown away by Miss Vermont and Miss Mississippi. So much talent! Hate to be a spoil sport but I thought 2 of the girls who made Top 10 were not as good as many who didn't. They must have excelled in interview, because that's where many are chosen.

  2. Wow. That first night talent was stacked! 5 of the Top 10 were from that group (SC, GA, OR…all 3 in the Top 5, and AR and WI) with 5 of the 8 non-finalist talent award winners (DE, IL, KY, MN, NH) also being from the first night group, (and it boggles my brain that TX was not one of the non-finalist talent winners, also from that first night group, but was the sole non-finalist interview winner). AND, 5 of the Top 10 were from the second night talent group (OH, VA…both in Top 5, and AL, HI, NJ) with 2 of the 8 non-finalist talent winners from the second night (AK, VT). Of the third night talent group, no contestant from that group made the Top 10, and only 1 was a prelim and non-finalist talent winner (MS). Has this ever happened before, where no contestant from an entire prelim group, does not make the Top 10? Wow. I think I recall this being discussed back in the day. Thank you for posting this. I'm so thrilled to see this (and so many) prelims. I'm still praying you have '95 and '96 prelims! =)

  3. Sharron, question….what is your home state? One more thing….I loved “That stuff like that there”! One of the best renditions of that song. Most SHOUT it iso singing it. Loved it.

  4. To Will NC: I think you would be very surprised to see how many past MAP
    contestants competed in other states.
    Here’s a few:
Heather French – competed in Ohio
Tara Holland – competed in Florida
Nicole Johnson – competed in Florida
That’s just a few Miss America’s who were unsuccessful in other states B4 going all the way.
There are MANY state reps who competed in other states before getting to Atlantic City.
From 93, I believe Miss Vermont was a 1st RU @ Miss New York.

  5. The Non Finalist Talent winners for this year : Delaware, Kentucky, Illinois, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Vermont and Alaska. Non finalist interview: Texas

  6. Being that talent competition held the highest percentage of points (in 1993),
I never understood how two Preliminary
Talent winners didn’t make the top 10, which was I think a first, I too am glad that I have been able to see their performances. Thanks as well.
