Her answer wasn’t that ~bad~ compared to other previous answers I’ve heard from the Q & A portion in pageants before, she just should’ve named either two specific places in Hawaii, or two specific places across America is all… 🤷🏽♀️
Even mentioning her state of Hawaii and then the state/ city the pageant was being held in would’ve sufficed… 😕

Reminds me of a comedy sketch I saw on SNL once… some con-artist is trying to sell work out tapes on public access and he bring on this girl to help him demonstrate. He tells her to say hi and tell us something about herself… she says something stupid… then he says, "well don't worry about it, you're pretty"…
And god damn if that isn't the fucking truth. If you are a hot girl, congrats, you can be as ignorant as can be, lazy as a cat, stupid as can be believed, but your genetics will make someone out there take care of you.
And she pronounced hawaii properly, you idiots. She is representing her island home, an island home with a long history. Her outfit and the lazy, slow pace of her speech, are what make her seem like she is phonetically reading words she doesn't understand the meaning of. That mixed with a nuanced pronunciation of the word "hawaii", which though accurate most people wouldn't know of and, that certainly isn't commonly used… and she comes across as a little vapid.

I mean at least she's pronouncing hawaii the right way. Growing up on Oahu its often heard that we are "hawaii". But in reality the correct Hawaiian pronunciation is like " haa – va – eee " just like how she said. But her saying it 2 times in the sentence…..no saving her from that mistake 😂😂😂

I think people are missing the joke here…it's not how she pronounced Hawai'i, it's that she said from the rocky shores of Hawai'i to the sandy beaches of…..and the she brain farts and defaults to…Hawai'i, making her look like an idiot. Very cringe worthy. Alan Thicke' comment was the the nail in the coffin at the end.
