Back in the day, the Miss America winner got scholarships as well as other prizes. Now a lot of the contestants are up to 28-30 years old.
There are other things just as bad – Cheer, dance, certain sports…At the end of the day, I'm not sure what the kids get from much of this. As a 'sports Dad' my Daughter does go to school on a soccer scholarship and my Son will be playing Ultimate in college next year. But it's important to have an end goal AND that the kid wants to do…whatever it is.
I don't watch beauty pageants anymore. They mean nothing. They suck. Go woke, go broke. 2.7 million viewers out of 300 some million. SAD Great for Fox for deleting them.
Casey I grew up in the 70s and used to love watching the Miss TX, Miss America, Miss Universe, pagents. Up until the early 90s, but mid-90s I completely stopped watching these shows they’ve become so sad woke. Just terrible. They are meaningless.

2 years ago, "Miss Spain" was a man that used to be a woman. I found it disturbing that he/she was as good looking as many of the other contestants. That was officially the end for me. I'll never watch it again.

Miss America was always the big event in the US. I thought Miss Universe was created by Trump but he was just a co-owner or promoter at one point. These trans people keep saying that gender is a social construct, then they spend tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to mimic the biological characteristics of a woman.
If the young ladies of this pageant accept this, it only proves that attention is the major prize.
