Miss West Virginia, Miss Oregon, Miss DC, Miss Texas, and Miss Missouri were the prettiest to me. Miss New Mexico definitely seemed very intelligent; her answers were very articulate and well answered.
Miss Texas dad must have been a rich man, and bought her the Miss Texas title.

West Virginia definitely should have won, and Texas usually picks a good gown, but dear god that dress is awful. Never ceases to amaze me, just how wrong the judges can get it sometimes.
I find it rather awkward and obtrusive the way they are all wearing their state sashes from shoulder to waist instead of from underarm to waist.

I still watch the pageant, though.
I kind of have to agree with that. Although, I like the modern look of the Miss Universe pageants, it's tradition and class were compromised. It's so sad to see these pageants as mere catwalks nowadays.
This was awesome, WOW what a fantastic gown production. I never had the opportunity to see 1984 Miss USA pageant.
