Thank you for speaking on this!
Loved the video! ❤ Thank you so much for making this. Alot of people need to accept the fact that we, black women, are unapologetic for our beautiful curls and we are making history in the pageant community. We dark women have worked hard to get where we are in society and to win national titles is a step forward into positivity. Also, to see Davina (from my country Jamaica) rock her afro on an international stage was an incredible moment for not only her but for us Jamaicans as well! 🇯🇲 #BlackGirlMagic ✨
I loved how you gave the history of black women in pageants where it is actually rare for black or mixed black women to win or even compete. The trend is going in the right direction allowing all types of women have a shot at the Miss USA or Universe crown. I am glad you brought up Miss World who has the most African countries compete including an occasional afro latina or afro european competing. If they send a black women to Miss World representing USA I would be happy as well. There hasn't been a black representative for USA at Miss World since 2004 and she was afro Brazilian with natural curls and was 2nd runner up in that pageant lol. I watch pageants in other countries and it is always a controversy when a black woman wins a pageant but not so much for other women.
I loved this video, great analysis
