The original and real ancestors of Filipinos were the Austronesians (Malayo-Polynesians) that is why Filipino dialects are similar to Indonesian and Malaysian dialects.
There were several tribes that trekked on land bridges to the Philippines during the Pleistocene period (just like in other countries where tribes in neighboring countries migrated to their countries), and these are the Aetas that came from Micronesia, Melanesia & Fiji; the Igorots (at least 5 various tribes that reside in the Mountain province, the very tribes that carved, farmed and brought into existence the famous Philippine rice terraces) that came from Taiwan & other Southeast Asian countries; the Moslem tribes that came from Borneo; etc., etc.
