There's no excuse for doing that to those poor babies. You want to do that to your own kids, that's on you if you want to give your own kids nightmares. But not to other people's kids. They are paying you to keep their kids safe. Not scare them to death. That daycare needs to be shut down and their licenses needs to be taken away. They don't needs to ever be around other people's kids.

Daycares like this give daycares that try to give children a place where they are loved a bad name.
Parents need to feel secure with the place they are leaving their child. This is an abuse of the child, abuse of the trust parents put in those adults. It is DISGUSTING.
So I was an assistant preschool teacher for 13 years. I am so sorry that you experienced this with your baby. We would never have disturbed children like that, never a full face mask!! scary stories sometimes at halloween and when they got scared, we moved on immediately. This is just cruel and completely unprofessional.
I work in a daycare myself with that age group and I could never think of doing anything like that to kids.
Those teachers deserve to be charged for the abuse they put those children through, that was so inappropriate of them to scar children like that.

I dunno, I kinda feel like people reactions are a little over the top. I'd certainly call them a jerk, but then we just move on? People acting like that baby started choking, which could have actually happened.
I went to a religious school in the 80s and they used a lot of these tactics, including showing us violent videos. I was 5 to age 11. Left that religion when I was around 18.
Struggled with cPTSD most of my life. Seeing this video really hit me hard. I don't know why adults believe this type of discipline is normal and okay.

This really makes me ANGRY. My 15 yr old daughter had the same experience at a daycare I was working at. One of my coworkers had a scream mask and stood over my daughter's crib when she was not even a year old and woke her up. She was terrified. I was so angry I almost lost my job. The other employee was not punished. I was actually punished for threatening the girl that scared my daughter. The world is a mess today and no one wants to take responsibility. I wish I had been able to press charges but so much time has passed. Being a bully is so immature.
This sort of thing is exactly why as a parent daycare is NOT an option. Im not saying that all day cares and day care workers all awful but things like this and worse happen a lot more often than people think and as a parent I will never risk it. And I couldn't care less what anyone says.

I've been watching Dr Phil since the Oprah days but I'll never watch again. Just the sound of his voice will ALWAYS now remind me of that little baby girl crying & screaming & biting her little fist in pure TERROR!! And they kept playing that clip over and over!!

This illustrates why many states now require MANDATORY COLLEGE COURSES IN ECE FOR ALL DAYCARE WORKERS in order to be state licensed. Developmentally, these children have been traumatized as it is true that at that age they can't distinguish between "fake" and "real" those masks were real to those kids. Hope the State pulls her license.
This is the most disturbing Dr Phil or story from ANYWHERE that I've seen in YEARS! I guarantee I WILL still be having nightmares from this 3 yrs from now!! Of that poor baby girl screaming & shaking, TERRIFIED & there was NOWHERE she could go because she probably wouldve been in MORE trouble if she got out of her chair & ran!! The IDIOT in the mask should be IN PRISON!! And her "Mother" sends her RIGHT BACK to that daycare because the owner is a friend of hers??? I am HORRIFIED & they kept playing that video over & over. I watched it once & had to turn my head & MUTE every time it came up again. Like I said, I will be thinking about this as I'm trying to go to sleep, YEARS from now!!
