Totally agree about overhyped queens. I can respect what someone has accomplished prior to the show but I try to put everyone on the same level and see what happens. However, since I've heard how great of a performer Sasha is non-stop I guess I thought there would be more to her talent show. I love the song and her meaning behind choosing it. The performance itself was just okay though but I keep seeing a ton of people praising it.
I've been a fan of Sasha's for a long time. I'm happy she's getting the respect Tamisha should have gotten from the base. Most of these youngins don't have any real clue about her pageant history, as most more than likely got introduced to her after her Yebba NightGowns performance went viral. She is the 3rd Continental Winner(won prior to drag race) that we've had, but the first that's been held to this level of regard by the fan base. I hope this season goes well for her, and we get more icons. I'm STILL waiting to see my fav, Chevelle Brooks. Maybe now that Mistress got it, we'll see her in an upcoming season..
There's still SOOOOOO many seasoned queens they could choose to put on the show, but they're trying to appeal to what the base seems to like the best. The skinny young Instagram girls that probably wouldn't be doing drag if Rupaul didn't have this show. It's sad too cause these girls think they can grow as entertainers from their bedrooms. Imo, the best experience comes from working in the actual scene(clubs, bars, etc).. that's where you find yourself as a queen. And after watching the talent show, you can tell who's a drag queen and who's a bedroom ig beauty.
