The three men convicted of murdering Ahmaud Arbery were sentenced Friday, Jan. 7
A jury found the three white men accused of killing Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man guilty on most of the 29 charges they faced the day before Thanksgiving. Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Cellphone video leaked to the public shows two armed white men in a truck approaching the 25-year-old Black man as he runs down the road. One of the men, later identified as Travis McMichael, and Arbery struggle over McMichael’s shotgun before Arbery is shot and collapses.
Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William “Roddy” Bryan, who recorded the video, are all charged with murder in Arbery’s death.

Linda Dunikoski is a badass prosecutor. She even had the foresight to ask the judge to order that the defendants cannot profit from the sale of their story re: the crimes.
Ahmaud Arbery's mother's victim impact statement was powerful. So was his sister's. His father's statement was heartbreaking.
I think the last one is from Puerto Rico privet first class.

Great judge, heartbroken for Ahmaud's family and friends and all of the families involved.
I guess I never understood the rejoicing after someone gets sentenced. It's one thing to be relieved but those guys in particular outside show their hate rejoicing like it's the Superbowl. Most don't even know the family, they make themselves look ridiculous acting that way.
Too bad the jury never got to hear about Arbery's extensive criminal history which included grab-and-dash theft, gun charges and assaulting a police officer. But to be expected in this era of memorializing criminals.
The multiple police officers body cam footage is extremely important to this case. These have the damning words that came out of their mouths. These are just as incriminating. As a juror, I would place these high on my list confirming their guilt.
