Although I validate her reasons and seem to have been beneficial for her, I also know that she might be an outlier. This is not the case for most pageants. The brainwashing about looks and fake beauty is all over the media giving false statements. There is sexualization about everything in these so called competitions and does not represent most women in the world. Most women in the world do not add tons of make up to look someone else.
Was it hard for you to compete while trying to be modest? I’d just like to know how your experience differed from other people’s, being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

This really changed my perspective of pageants and sounds like a really good way to help my community and fund my education. As a teenage girl, I never really thought about being a pageant girl but now it sounds like a really fun and rewarding opportunity. I actually know Miss Deseret at 6:46!!! I was in a musical with her and she told me all about pageants during rehearsal one time. I've had such respect for the women involved since then.
Speaking of which, are you considering doing any Mrs. Pageants??
I used to model when I was really young and my parents put me in a few pagents to help me gain confidence and get out of my shell because I was super shy. It really ended up being fun and a confidence builder for sure even if I didn't win. Thanks for sharing about your experiences.
I really loved this episode you really changed my mind about this I think it sounds pretty cool now I always thought I could never dream of pagants I dont have a cute face or body lol.
