today’s video is on the very controversial Toddlers and Tiaras. I also want to say rest in peace to Kailia Posey, a young girl who lost her life way too soon. This show also spawned “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” a show I think we all want to forget.

  1. I like the way that you go about presenting your videos. Very mature and professional, but also laid-back and entertaining. I am a new fan from your previous video talking about Maddie and Kenzie’s life.
This show has always been so disgusting to me. Those poor kids forced into uncomfortable situations that they cannot give consent to for the sake of some potential money, fame, and bragging rights. It’s different if a child grows up and makes an informed decision to wax or whatever, but they were so young and didn’t have that choice. It’s sickening to me.

  2. I think its very obvious that most of the parents featured in Toddlers and Tiaras were not very good parents to their children, but could you maybe do a video about how to be a good parent or like what are the things you can do to be a good parent to your kid because I think this could be really helpful to some people and to myself in the long future when I become a parent or when I am just around kids in general. Thank youu

  3. the child pageant industry is so bizarre. these are children in their earliest stages of development and learning about themselves and the idea of putting them through so much physically, mentally, emotionally, it's just devastating to me that they don't have the opportunity to just be real children and exist for themselves. like the girl begging not to have her eyebrows waxed? child abuse imo

  4. It’s horrible how many children have taken there lives. Recently, I heard about a 12 year old girl who took her life due to bullying. Fly high to Kailia and all of the other beautiful angels 💕🕊

  5. I’m not entirely against the pageant world because I know girls that have really flourished because of it BUT it needs to drastically change. Young children don’t need to be in it. Pageants don’t need to be about bleaching teeth, tanning skin and changing your appearance. It should be about feeling beautiful in your own skin. I can’t speak on why others have taken their lives while being in the pageant world but this is a breeding ground for stress and anxieties. When kids get stressed and insecure they lash out and often towards kids their age. This shouldn’t be normalized

  6. I don’t believe that its the pageant world itself that led to those ladies committing suicide. People want to end their lives in all walks of life. Some girls absolutely love that world. Chesley had a problem with depression and her parents did everything to save her. Sometimes you cannot save someone….and the lies and negative thoughts they think to themselves can overpower the love that is surrounding them. I think that the parents on that show definitely did too much when it came to those pageants. But should it be directly seen as a place that breeds kids that eventually commit suicide?? No I don’t agree with that. I know that wasn’t said in the video but it was insinuated in the opening speech. I just wanted to offer a different perspective 💜

  7. If you have time or can find info about it you should look into Kim of Queens( if you haven't already) It's a look into pageantry of older girls & I think it gave a much better side of pageants too.

  8. these kinds of things make children rely on makeup to look beautiful at a very young age, toxic and dangerous beauty standards. comparing little children for their beauty is not okay

  9. That eyebrow waxing video makes me so sad. I've been getting my brows done since I was in 5th grade (about 10 years old) and even now at 30 i tear up when I get my brows done. I cant imagine how bad it hurts at that young age at what? 5? 6? Especially when they could just shave the excess hair???

  10. Child beauty pageants to me are genuinley evil, i dont know if its more common in america or something nut the idea of putting INFANTS on a stage to be judged on their looks by grown adults is beyond gross. Not to mention the long term insecurities that these children will develop.

  11. Let's be real. It's not small "children" being groomed and sexualized for the enjoyment of pervy "adults". It's little girls being offered up on a platter for pedophilic men. Males are 98% of CSA perpetrators (and of the 2% who are female, most are helping out a male). Girls are 89% of victims. This is an EXTREMELY gendered issue, and we'll never address it if we pretend otherwise.

  12. I LOVED this and dance moms when i was in middle school. my dad didn’t like me watching toddlers and tiaras and now as an adult i understand why

  13. i used to watch this show religiously, along with dance moms and shows alike. i used to lowkey be mad that my mom put me in sports instead but once i started rewatching at like 15/16…. every red flag came into view and i couldn’t be happier i did sports instead. my heart breaks for these babies and young ladies who were so impacted without choice

  14. “Rash decision to end her earthly life” to me, this sounds like her family was undermining her suicide. No one just wakes up and chooses to unalive themselves. It’s a series of depressive episodes. She was probably chronically depressed and didn’t have support. The statement is just awful.

  15. Toddlers and Tiaras really gave pageants a bad reputation . There’s a show on lifetime called Kim of Queens, where the pageant coach teaches the girls about life and how to work hard. I think it was a better version than that tlc crap 😂

  16. I really don’t like these kind of child pageants! I think they are terrible! However, not all of these pageants are bad! Local, state, and even some national pageants in some organizations are great! My pageant system encourages young girls! The titleholders are people in the community they can look up to! I believe now these types of pageants don’t even have a judging system in beauty, only how they do on stage and how well spoken they are in interview! I recommend these pageants a million times more that glitz ones! They really focus on everyone having fun and aren’t even judging on beauty! If you’re wanting to try pageants, try glitz if you want, it’s not my choice! You could have fun! However, I think the other kind are much better for peoples wellbeing! If you’re wanting to join one, most cities or counties have local pageants!

  17. If we’re being completely honest TLC was just filming and profiting off of multiple instances of child abuse. That scene of the little girl’s eyebrows being waxed is heartbreaking. No one can convince me that that was not an instance of a parent abusing a child. She caused intentional physical harm to her child while the child was begging her not to and her reason for doing this was to make her “prettier,” so she would have a better chance of bringing a trophy home that the mom could brag about every time someone comes over. That is abuse. Parents should no be putting their children through procedures like waxing, teeth bleaching, and tanning. It is not good for the children mental health and physical health.

  18. Their should be a law that ppl can only participate in pagents if their teens/young adults. And if their a minor that a parent/guardian signs off that they will ALWAYS be in attendance and if they aren't then the kid either isn't allowed to participate in pagents/kicked out or maybe something legally is done cuz noone else should be their but the guardian/parent because their a pred*tors etc…

And the guardian/parent could put their kid at risk not being their.. You would wanna be safe especially if it's a minor/teen that many ppl love to prey on. Weather it's a boy or girl. I still don't get how pagents allow actual children who are like 5-7 to participate. This oddly reminds me of how Asia from dance moms joined around 6 but the difference was, was her mom was always their and how her mom left Abby's before damage was done

  19. these people literally great their kids like a) extensions of themselves or b) dolls! like literal actual dolls that you can dress up! "she's so cute in the blue dress and blonde hair" just sounded so much like something someone would say about their freaking doll collection. it's so weird

  20. Another great video. Could you do a deep dive into the parents on this show & how they act?? There’s an episode where a mom freaks out over another mom couching her kid bc the 2nd ladies daughter has autism or something like that and it’s so messed up.

  21. When I was younger my mom use to always tell me "It's painful to be beautiful" anytime I complained about pain (like when she would pull on my hair when she was fixing my hair)

  22. This one was extra sad as a kid I been “dieting” since I was 3 because of my mom and eventually developed an eating disorder it’s was so hard to watch the little girl cry because she wasn’t feeling beautiful, thank you for handling these topics with so much empathy

  23. I don’t think her su!cide was a rash decision, but I didn’t know her personally. I think that the pageant queens are taught to make themselves beautiful on the outside, and feel as no one really cares about them on the inside. I wish people would take su!cides seriously and not just as a conspiracy that someone is out to get people, people are struggling with their mental health and we need to address that

  24. I will say these are more extreme examples. I suggest you talk to real pageant families. Plenty of normal kids do pageants with boys and girls who do plenty of other activities.

  25. The worst part about the Dolly Parton outfit is that Dolly is actually a great role model when you take into consideration her morals and philanthropy work. And to just take her image and just use it to s**ualize a child is so wrong. It rubs me the wrong way and I don’t think Dolly would appreciate it either

  26. I’m surprised stuff like talent competitions for kids aren’t as popular as pageants. At least that way kids can express themselves through talent and build skills that pertain to their interests. There are still problematic parents and things that would occur behind the scenes but it seems like a better approach than stuff that happens on toddlers and tiaras.
