Thank you for watching ‘Our Queer Life’ – my series that shines a light on the stories of people in our queer community that have walked a different walk of life than most of us. I have had the most amazing time meeting all of the different queer people on the show and I truly feel so lucky to have them in my life now.

📢 BE ON THE SHOW:
ALWAYS looking for new stories, so if you are queer and have an interesting story/life event that you want to share, reach out to me! Email matthewlcullen@gmail.com

If you’re a company or brand interested in a commissioned video (or a brand sponsorship on one of my episodes), email me: matthewlcullen@gmail.com. Airline companies, hotels, car rental services, an external handheld microphone company, a camera equipment company (tripod, camera, lenses, etc.), a luggage company, a backpack company, and city tourism companies are all ideas that I could see working seamlessly into the series.

  1. No gay for pay I believe your fluid and on the spectrum, I’m so straight I could never for no amount of money unless I had a kid who needed a kidney or meds would I ever be with the opposite sex I’m just 100% straight I never even had a crush of the opposite sex or a thought 💭. That’s the truth .so if he can do it for pay he has some kind of apparition of it which obviously fine . They should know it though not scam themselves

  2. Not to be obnoxious but, $20 bucks isnt $20 bucks!!!! Its actually closer to $15 once they take out social security, state and federal taxes, state dis insurance, my HMO $$, retirement, and the United Way contribution that they match dollar for dollar. $20? I wish! Lol….

  3. Wow and of course it would be to white folks see this is why I don't understand these white queer folk come in and just screw it it up for all the binary presenting transpeople y'all make us like a joke and it's sad

  4. I find this to be complete and utter bulshit literally for the matter of I love how he's not talking to any of the black trans women that New Orleans is quite frankly very much known for

  5. So he’s in a heterosexual relationship with his partner, plus being gay for pay, identifying as bisexual, uses she/her pronouns, has straight sex yet has taken no opportunity to address his gender although he calls himself ‘trans’.
    Right.

  6. I would like to address some of the questions & assumptions that came up in the comments! * I was using he/him pronouns in the beginning of the video because that is what Jesse had asked me to do. Before we started the interview she had not been planning to discuss her gender identity. It was something she decided to share in the moment while we were being interviewed. I don't want to say anything further about her identity. It is personal and it's not for me to speak on. * I am not trapped nor do I hate my profession. This is a 15 minute video and it would be impossible to convey all the complexities of my career. Yes, I shared a lot about the trauma I have experienced in this industry, but there are also so many ways my business has lifted me up which Matt & I just happened to not discuss in our brief time together. Like someone in any other job, I have had nuanced feelings and experiences, some are positive and some are negative. * Thank you to everyone who left positive messages about our queerness….I do understand all the privileges I get to enjoy due to being read as a heteronormative couple, but that doesn't mean I am straight or enjoy not being seen.

  7. Society needs to help empower independent providers so they can be safe. SCREENING practices; are what todays workers are trying to uphold as industry standard. It's difficult to get compliance and thats the fragment of this conversation that needs more attention. Newbies: I urge you to seek out reputable independent vets who are focused on organizing community.

  8. people literally have no idea about sex workers, how they market themselves at all along with how nonbinary trans people that exist in the industry HAVE to lean into whatever the clientele thinks the sex worker identitifies. I completely understand the "male for pay" because thats literally how the client percieves them- its not forcing anyone to do anything besides for the nonbinary trans person choosing to use outsider labelling as a way to better suit to the appeal for the clients they see. Also the "20 bucks is 20 bucks" is literally been a meme since 2015 in straight male groups literally implying gay for pay as the joke, stop being so sensitive and being hyper religious in these comments. And to the trans women/men begging the cis people in these comments that theyre the real women/men and nonbinary trans femmes are a threat to them like girl EVERYONE thinks we're a threat whether or not we're doing surgery, hormones, style changes or playing with f'ing dirt. In some states right now you cant even wear clothing of the opposite sex But continue to claim superiority and deny history, no amount of time you put into your identity will ever build you a smarter brain and a better personality, sincerely a nonbinary trans dude.

  9. Geez, this is all just a justification for something that is 💯 wrong in every sense. Facts, 💯. He, him they , them, she … Good Lord what u ARE dear is on your birth certificate, not ur Backpage or whatever u choose to be from one paid hour to the next. So sad

  10. She? Are you all for real? You look at this guy and go “she”? And then he’s in a relationship with a girl but is also gay man… please tell me yall really dont go along with this

  11. Thats Nasty! Prostitution is like the lowest of the lows. I hope i never go thru something like that. Sex should be plessure not for pay or anything other then. Nasty!

  12. Just found your channel Matt and I’m obsessed! It’s currently 1:30am and I’m binging your videos haha Lots of love from Australia 😘😘

  13. Severe mental health crisis on display. 😢 A man calls himself she/they and doesn’t even put effort to appear like a woman. This is not a trans identity. He says I’m gay for pay like she is a woman pretending to be a man.

  14. I see 2 people who I'm sure have a background full of major damage , and are trying to present this image of things are well, I don't see them lasting long in life I wish them the best

  15. Wow, I do worry for your safety. That area really looked rough and unforgiving…. glad the taxi driver said something. What a dangerous profession these two are in. Given how folks are treated who are in this line of work… it is a wonder things are not other than they appear. Sending safety vibes towards them. Matt, you are such a kind and engaging conversationalist and interviewer. A special gift that you have.

  16. Love your channel's content Matt! You go for those first 100k subscribers. Thanks so much for what you do for our community ♡♡.
