Couldnāt even finish this. I think we can completely replace the āshrieking teenage girl throwing a tantrumā stereotypical metaphor and replacing it with another adjective: Trump. As in, āStop trumping.ā āWe are a miserable, trumping country.ā We couldāve been great, but we trumped it instead.ā The teenage girl metaphor is particularly rich coming from, once again, an old, know-it-all, white guy with a mouthpiece. Itās all so tired. For the record, Iāve seen some teenage boy tantrums that put any other tantrum to shame. Why did gender and a pink skirt have to be a part of this? Teenage tantrum (and a baby rattle or diaper instead of a pink skirt) would have gotten the point across quite effectively. More universally. Some things really do never change š Patriarchy is insidious and runs deep.
