Little Miss Perfect Merch:

Coming of age is harder when you’re coming out. Noelle’s world turns upside down when she develops feelings for the foreign exchange student being hosted by her conservative family. She must confront her privilege and compliance when her high school refuses to take steps in being more inclusive, and her position as the class president complicates things further. Will she be true to herself or settle with simply being “Little Miss Perfect”?

  1. Officer Douglass is a security guard at Columbus High who is infamous for profiling black and brown students at the school. After antagonizing and harassing Elijah, things escalate and Officer Douglass violently pins Elijah against a locker, breaking his arm in the process. Although multiple students saw the encounter and say that Officer Douglass was to blame, Columbus High decides to ignore the issue, even after multiple students come forward with other allegations of discrimination from Officer Douglass. The students stage a walkout, demanding that Officer Douglass be fired or the protests will continue.

  2. Joriah does it again! I absolutely love how different the styles are! I go from "I'm the butterfly" to "I think you're perfect" to "Go against the grain" to "he better be terminated". And feel something different each time.

  3. I love this and know I'm not the only one who finds it difficult to follow new music without lyrics in front of me, so I'm missing some of the background sounds, but here are (most of) the lyrics, to the best of my hearing ability – please let me know if you can make out the parts I'm missing or if any corrections are necessary:

    TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Here's a message from the student body
Targeting Black and Brown teens seems a frequent hobby
    Of
    OFFICER DOUGLASS
    Whose conduct was so sloppy
He broke Elijah's arm in the lobby
    (What?)
    WE DEMAND THAT HE'S TERMINATED
Unless he's compensated to make life more complicated
We may be in class but
    WE'RE NOT CONCENTRATED
'Cause in the halls he makes us all feel small and hated
    THE REVOLUTION NEEDS A VOICE
    And I've been nominated
Hi my name is Terrance but you can call me mad as hell
Call my parents, explain to them why I'm expelled
When you let him stay another day – you rang the bell
CLASS DISMISSED IT'S TIME TO WALKOUT

    Come on Noelle!
Everyone… Just please calm down. Everyone…
    Forget it

Not gonna wait for change no more
NOT GONNA WAIT FOR CHANGE NO MORE
Until it comes we're out the door
UNTIL IT COMES WE'RE OUT THE DOOR

Say "I" if you're tired of being victimized
    I!
Same time(?) trying to change the world and stigmatized
    WHY?
    Because the powers that be
Want us to cower for free
But guarantee you're gonna pay respect to me

    SI SE PUEDE
    IT CAN BE DONE
Well, endure the headache until we've won
    A vacation from education
We'll make the faculty display their dedication
EVERY ABSENCE IS AN ACTION THAT DEMANDS HIS RESIGNATION

NOT GONNA WAIT FOR CHANGE NO MORE
    Not gonna wait!
    Not gonna wait!
    Not gonna wait!
    Not gonna!
UNTIL IT COMES WE'RE OUT THE DOOR

Let's take it up a little higher
    We do it for Elijah
NOT GONNA WAIT FOR CHANGE NO MORE
    (Not gonna wait)
    Not gonna!

    Si se puede
    It can be done
Well, endure the headache until we've won
(The school needs to fire Officer Douglass)

Next thing we know we've lost control
Half of the student population goes
Across the street, the voices grow
Ring so loud that the city knows
    That

    We won't wait!
    WE WON'T WAIT!
    We won't wait!
    WE WON'T WAIT!
    We won't wait!
    WE WON'T WAIT!
    We won't wait!
    WE WON'T WAIT!
    We won't wait!
    WE WON'T WAIT!
    We won't wait!
    WE WON'T WAIT!
    We won't wait!
    WE WON'T WAIT!
    We won't wait!
    WE WON'T WAIT!
    We won't wait!
    WE WON'T WAIT!
    We won't wait!
    WE WON'T WAIT!
    We won't wait!
    WE WON'T WAIT!

  4. I personally didn't like the song the same way I like "falling fast" or "infatuated" as in "I'll listen to this 10 times every day" but damn, it did it's job of passing a message of rage and injustice that made me unconfortable and mad for what those characters have to live. An amazing song!!

  5. oh my gosh, this gave me chills. This is the musical we all need right now. Thank you Joriah and the absolutely amazing cast who’s bringing this musical to life!!

  6. I love how the differences in musical styles for each song are representative of the singer and the subject matter! You can tell even without the vocals which character(s) are being represented.
