  1. Etong pasabog: Nagjudge k pala ng BB Cebu where Bea won as u said "Unanimously".

And Bea wasn't even in your top 5 and not even noticing her in the gown and SS rounds which she both won btw.

Yung masmadaming mileage sa posts m ung mga maraming fans kesa s DESERVING contestants.

    Bye!

  2. I agree on a lot of what you said, Adam. Kudos for being brave on saying pasavogues are not as important as honing and improving your skills. Also, it is very true that a MUPH hopeful should be a good communicator. Lu Siera once said being a Miss Universe is not a modelling job, you are a spokesperson.

Pasavogues are now passΓ©-vogues. They are not important, would not help the candidates when they are on the stage answering their Q&As. Q&A is what sets apart queens from commoners, if you have the prettiest face but can't construct a simple, cohesive and sensible statement, you're just an airhead.

These so-called pasavogues should only be far and few in between. If a candidate is iffy on one aspect i.e. comm skills or pasarela, time that would be spent doing pasavogues should be invested on these instead.

Would also like to point out that handlers/trainers/camps should be assertive with their girls, they should be the first to tell their girls off if they are not working on their weakness. Don't send them to national pageants if they are weak in Q&As, are they waiting to have a Janina San Miguel 2.0 of the girls they field? Girls will take the blunt of scrutiny, not their camps or handlers. This should be a lesson too for the camps.

I am subscribing now Adam, keep it up and best of luck!

  3. sharing out my 2 cents.
popularity does not guarantee a win for any girl

Cavite has been performing consecutively in the top 5.
4th last year Miss Charm this year.

  4. i think hyping (or over hyping) doesnt give a candidate an edge both for miss universe and miss universe philippines as it affects the expectation from them during the finals night.

  5. I guess Adam, you have to make another "lessons" episode after MU, depends on whether or not we make it to top 20. πŸ™ Or probably what MUP could learn from the last 2 seasons, who we bring in Miss U, especially on the WINABILITY (in Miss Universe) of the reps that MUPh brings to Miss Universe, as a candidate can shine in one night here, but may dull down the Philippines' sash in Miss Universe; or does the one girl who shine for us also shine in Miss Universe.

So whatever happens to the Philippines' sash this year in Miss Universe, I hope you will make another lesson episode after the MAIN pageant. πŸ™‚

Winning Miss Universe Philippines is one thing, BUT winning Miss Universe (or at the very least making it to top10 or 5), is a very very very different thing.

Thank you for all your on point insights. πŸ™‚

  6. I agree Adam. "Pasabogs" do not determine a win. Yes it will delight fans pero may tendency din kasi na it set up everyones expectation so high na kailangan mo mapantayan/malagpasan ang mga pasabog mo sa actual events. If not, mapupunta ka sa underwhelming candidates.

  7. HONESTLY, you should be at 500k na di ba πŸ™‚ anyway, we love you so much and your reviews we hate small gaps and errors like grammatical errors (low hanging fruit, pa edit lang), repetitive phrases belying discipline of the mind, awkward pauses so unbecoming of a review guru like you πŸ™‚ etc. you probably just need a good editor slash copywriter – dame diyan mga fans mo, should not cost you a penny – Goodluck Adam!

  8. I think the pasavogue is not 100% effective for winning the crown but in the long run they could be self-serving and helpful to candidates, fashion designers and stylist and vloggers get known, get a return of their investment. Some people think that pasavogue is too much but for me it made things more exciting. I look forward to see every candidates pasavogue. Until this time I search and check out the candidates social media. Social media platforms is not only connecting with people, it’s not only playing with algorithms but most of all its fan-based. I agree with you on candidates being competitive. Candidates should learn to up their game, learn new skills so they don’t get left behind and be unique.

  9. Adam I hope I'm proven wrong – MUP bypassed a 'top 5' contender to a 'clapper to top 20' candidate. But we have to support our candidate and wish her well. Also Legit bloggers like you(Tita Lavinia, etc) are not given enough credit. You really do your due diligence before putting out your analysis. Your analysis are in context with the whole picture. Unlike the pageant organizers(not to blame them) na may tunnel vision lang. I'll say it again -Jonas Gaffud as part of MUP is a conflict of interest.

  10. The issue with pasavogues are that they have become the norm, just like how having advocacies have suddenly become some sort of a prerequisite for crown aspirants since around 2017. What the candidates should focus on right now is not the quantity but the quality and appeal of these pasavogues so they can actually make more lasting impacts instead of just doing them daily or even a few times in a day and, due to their frequency, ending up having these shoots and videos either blend into or compete against each other for attention that they start to overhype or overshadow the girl.

  11. Answering questions from media interviews or q&a shouldn’t be just answering the questions but you have to give life to the questions and show personality answering it. Natatabangan ako kay Bea when she answers interviews.

  13. Thanks for your MUPH insights, Adam. Magaling ka kasi mag-explain kaya nakikinig kami sayo. Sana ma-interview mo ang bagong ND ng MU-UAE na si Sir Josh Yugen. I know na-interview mo na sila dati ni Furne Amato.
