i am now more into minor pageants because Miss Universe is now a cancer in Filipino mentality, promoting the western standard of beauty and promoting English-proficiency as standard of intellectuality. That is why Filipinos are bashing Filipina representatives or Binibini candidates who are not so mestiza, and not so fluent in English, or even having that Filipino accent in speaking english language. They are crazily looking for someone who are very well english-spoken Filipina and so western looking. But MUO might really not into it, see how Miss France won the last edition, but the effect to Filipino fans is horrible because almost everybody thinks that Miss Universe Philippines should have the ability to converse outstandingly in english. Remember Miss France guys, compare her English with Maxine, we are bashing Maxine for her capability in speaking english but we never thinks about the one who won. After all, personality is the best important and not English language. Miss World on the other hand is a cooking show and like a Miss Charity not a Beauty Pageant and same with Miss Universe in promoting English Language and I would also include Miss Earth to that. Now, I am left with Miss International, Miss Supranational, Miss Grand International, and Miss United Continents. I love these Beauty Pageants because you dont have to be fluent in English to win the title. Miss Universe, World, and Earth are all set to promote not the diversity but to promote a western standard of beauty and english language.
