NATIONAL COSTUME DETAILS

ADLINE CASTELINO
Miss Universe India 2020
(3rd Runner-Up)

My National Costume embodies the true essence of a woman.
The Saree is a traditional attire binds the whole country together. Yardage of priceless legacy, The Saree is known to have eighty different styles of draping. It does not judge of class or caste, worn by most Indian women even today.

The border and pallav of the saree is encrusted with the embroidery depicting the three hundred year old Pichwai art form adding grace.
The beautiful color of the saree is inspired by The National flower of India, the Lotus which symbolizses knowledge and spirituality.

I want to thank multiple Indian weavers and artisans who have worked on my National Costume over 5 months during this pandemic

One of the oldest civilisations in the world, India ,is a mosaic of multicultural experiences. With a rich heritage and myriad attractions , India’s culture is a rich amalgam of the past and the present.๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

The front part of the dress represents India’s national flag. The topmost part of the national flag is saffron colour which
indicates strength and courage of the country. It stands for our courageous history and sacrifice of our soldiers and freedom fighters. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

The middle one is white
It indicates purity, truth, honesty and peace that India will take.

The lower most is green colour .
It indicates that being an agricultural country India believes in faith, development, fertility and prosperity of the country.

The other part of the dress indicates various festivals celebrated in India, our national symbols and various dance forms.People in India belong to various religions and speak different languages but still there is unity in diversity. In India festivals create a sense of Unity, brotherhood and purity in heart. We celebrate Holi, Diwali,Id,Christmas, Baisakhi ,Pongal and many more festivals. Our national symbols inspire and teach us to do good and follow the right path. Various dance forms of India helps in promoting national integrity and communal harmony and this Unity in Diversity is the very essence of my country India.
