Miss Louisiana Returns after Top 10 Finish at Miss America
Miss Louisiana 2011, Hope Anderson has returned home after finishing in the top 10 at Miss America. She also received the Duke of Edinburg award and one of three National Miracle Maker Awards. The state of Louisiana also received the State Miracle Maker Award for the raising the most funds for Children’s Miracle Network.
The Miss America Pageant was held at the Planet Hollywood Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV this weekend.
Hope Anderson is a Monroe native and Mass Communications graduate from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Anderson was crowned Miss Louisiana in June at the Monroe Civic Center and has since worked to promote her platform “Pilots for Patients” and preparing for the Miss America Pageant.
The Miss Louisiana Organization has a volunteer based Board of Directors that works to share the accomplishments of the 36 contestants and provide scholarships to further their education. In 2010-2011, the Miss Louisiana Organization made available over $950,000 in cash and tuition scholarships. Miss America offers over $45 million in cash and scholarships, making them the number one provider of scholarships to young women in the world.
