  1. did you know that it was a pilipino designer who designed last years delegate from south africa in miss universe and won the best in national costume…just so you know.

  2. The location is Vigan City in Ilocos Sur province in northwestern Philippines. It is a UNESCO Heritage site. It is a Spanish colonial city.

  3. For bulacan, the headpiece is something symbolical. It's made of bamboo which is associated to the biggest festival here in bulacan, we called it β€œSingkaban,” Filipino word for decorated bamboo arch, is used as a welcome signage of a town, city or village in the country. It is widely used as decoration during town fiestas in Bulacan. In the celebration, Singkaban also refers to β€œSining at Kalinangan ng Bulacan” (Arts and Culture of Bulacan).

  4. Im freaking out of excitement for today's coronation night Miss universe Philippines πŸ‡΅πŸ‡!!! Alot of former miss universe from other countries came to watch it live too.!!!

  6. The theme this year was Filipino Textiles, it’s so hard to choose which one is my favourite because all of them are so beautiful! But for me Pasay, Makati and Cebu City really stood out! Also, Demi has arrived in Manila! ❀️

  7. Hi, there are actually certain gesture required by a certain type of costume. Those wearing the filipiana ( bell-sleeved gowns) are deemed to be refined, and conservative. Whle those costumes based on precolonial tribes were expected to be fierce as dictated by their costume. I don't fault you as there is still so much to explain about our very diverse culture. I thank you that you took time to watch and delve into our culture. Love lots

  8. Philippines πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ is so rich with cultural heritage ( like any other countries) that each national costume represents its state history, myths, language, and her colonial influence ( it may sound cynical but I think most countries feel the same 😁) from Arabs, Spaniards, Americans and Asians and Africans..

  10. Yes you are right, I also think Pangasinan represents the "Bangus", the national fish of the Philippines and one of the main products of Dagupan, the capital of Pangasinan. Make sense.

  11. The women wearing traditional filipiniana gowns (the ones with big sleeves), are supposed to embody their dresses by being conservative and gentle. That's probably why some of the women's performances aren't as energetic as the others, which are wearing costumes that are based off of cultural festivals and dances.

  12. Miss Baguio's costume was Inspired by her roots and personality. As a true-blooded Cordilleran and a β€˜true and proud Igorota’, she is in the best position to be the modern day Kalinga Warrior of Peace. She represents the Gaddang and Guilayon tribes(Ghenesis came from two tribes, the Gaddang and Guilayon)as she struts with this close to a hundred percent ensemble made of Gilamat, Ilat-ata and Modern Kalinga weaves.

She carries with her the heritage with a rare find of Pasiking, a small bag carried by her ancestors, waa-sayβ€”-used for hunting animals and Pa-ingaβ€”- an interesting earpiece fit for a real fighter.

The whole look is accented by wittawit, raw shells found in the Ilocos-Kalinga trade route ages ago. lastly, the ensemble is finished by this wrap around skirt called Ka-in… presenting the Ghenesis as she pays homage to her Kalinga Roots.

  13. Ms.Pasay is so natural and beautiful. She's stunning with her walk and her face, not exagerating anything but being her own style and that's makes her simply the best among them.
