I met Laura Herring shortly after she won Miss USA at a shopping mall in San Antonio. She was doing a publicity/ autograph signing thing. She was stunningly beautiful. My little niece had wanted to come along but was sick with flu. Laura gave me a glossy photo of herself, wrote a nice little note for my niece to get well soon and said "Tell her hello and get well soon." My niece was thrilled with that. Laura was a doll!
