  1. 21:38 – The moment I started crying and humming “Safe and Sound (Taylor’s Version)”.

And no line has sent a chill through me like DS saying “a little hope is effective – a lot of hope is dangerous”. Some truly scathing social commentary in THG. Suzanne Collins did not come to play.

  2. 11:35 Neither. It's a different type of bow than the one she's used to. She had to adjust her way of shooting which is why she did good on her other shots

  3. In terms of the romance/love triangle, at this point in the books & movies, Katniss is not romantically interested in anyone.

Yes, she is playing into the romance act with Peeta to survive the games, but you’re right about there being at least some affection there. He has a crush on her, and she definitely cares about him.

She & Gale have been friends for years. Their fathers worked together and both died in a mining accident, and Katniss and Gale grew close while ~illegally~ hunting together to provide for their families/younger siblings. She and Gale are meant to look so similar that most people actually think they’re cousin. There has been NO indication of any romance between them, but she thinks that they would probably end up together just because they’re friends and she feels like they’d work out fine, almost just feels like “eh, why not.” Gale is very handsome and popular in district 12, but again, Katniss doesn’t really care about any of that at this point. The movies definitely try to play them up more. But yeah the “looks” you’re seeing between them is again, Katniss knows she cares about Gale, thinks she should feel something for him, but doesn’t really at this point. Also, Gale has NEVER expressed interest in her until the games either, so it’s not like he’s “the boy back home” for her.

  4. One of my favorite things about the cultural impact of The Hunger Games (books and films) is that when the first book was released, it was marketed as “The Next Harry Potter” in terms of its potential. And then AFTER the books and films had all been released, every single dystopian book/film for the next TEN YEARS tried to market themselves as “The Next Hunger Games” 🤭 the cultural impact of The Hunger Games was huge for young adult fiction and was primarily the reason why there was such popularity for other huge franchises like The Maze Runner and Divergent.

And as a young girl that was a teenager when the books/films were coming out, god it was so cool to see a franchise where young women take action and promote change be so incredibly popular. Awesome reaction, hope you enjoy these films!

  5. Loved this video! so entertaining, you and I watch movies the same way lmao, I kept being like "right???" with you. hope to see you react to the rest o the series too!!

  6. As to Katniss's missed shot, she hadn't practiced with the bows at the Games, and it had a different pull than she was used to. She had to fire it without knowing how it would respond. Once she did, she was able to make the adjustment pretty quickly.

The movies miss it, but Caesar Flickerman was actually a mostly good guy who tried to help the tributes however he could, by making them as memorable as he could and helping them if they got stuck.

  7. i remember when i read the book, i found the fact that the dogs at the end had the faces of the dead tributes incredibly eerie but they didn't use it in the film

  8. The mutts they released towards the end were far more terrifying in the book, if I’m remembering correctly they resembled the fallen tributes and had tags with each of the district numbers of who the mutt was

  9. My guy, the fact that you don’t utilize playlists is severely hurting your channel. Someone may see a Stranger Things video and wanna watch the others but would rather move on than scroll through your entire catalogue. Same with Game of Thrones. And now Hunger Games if you finish the series (and you should.) As long as there are 2 or more of a particular kind of video (series, musicians, seasons etc) they should be in playlists. Here I was planning to binge some movie reactions but you don’t even have any type of movie playlists. Comedy, horror, drama, action… come on, man

  10. "He burned the bread, so he is a bad baker" 😂😂😂😂 that comment had no business making me laugh like that. YouTube algorithm has been feeding me this franchise's reactions like crazy, so hey! I'm on board here and looking forward for yours.

Pd: Obligatory In the books, Peeta burned the bread on purpose so he could give it to Katniss
