This is so tragic. It reminds me of the poor little girl Jon Benet Ramsay and the pageants she did.
Jump rope, ride your bike, skate on sidewalks, go swimming, swing, climb trees and so on, those are good competitions. Give kids 10 items and let see what they each create with them also another good competition. Why has being a child become such a crime now a days? Why is everything a competition? Why such negative diva attitudes? Sounds like society is conditioning for the hunger games and selling one self out of dignity and faking who one really is and dog eat dog mentality, very sad and unhuman. I think it should be natural beauty no make up but of course pretty princess dresses and for the boys suit and ties but no make up and 100% no forcing the kids to do if the kid says no then it is a no period
The real stupidity of this is these parents spend thousands of dollars on costumes fake hair spray tans on little girls for a trophy and sometimes a few hundred dollars. I couldn't imagine doing that to my granddaughter. I had to bribe her with lollipops to put snow pants on. She's 2 and half but some of them are that young and younger

My mum ACCIDENTALLY entered me into a child photo beauty pageant. She had some photos taken in a shopping centre and they entered me into a child beauty competition without her knowing. A few weeks later she got a call because I won. She was shocked. I was happy, I got a bunch of toys as a prize, but my mum wasn't too happy. I got money too, but no idea how much. My mum probably used it for bills, or something. I also got free singing lessons and was entered into 1 competition. The other little girls were all dressed up and wearing false lashes and my mum pulled me out immediately. I'm grateful.

The winners get money or prizes, don't they? These ultimately go to the parents. Want to guess how many parents pocket money/prizes their children earned for themselves? That's straight up child labor, exploitation of children and a criminal offense. This is disgustingly abusive on so many levels.

Child beauty pageants are awful, and need to be outlawed. They were quite obviously created by child predators to condition children into thinking that talking about them in a way that you should really only be talking about an adult is a normal thing.
Do other countries do this other than america
tbh though, I feel like if my mom made me do that as a child, I would have loved it, I loved dressing up and I think it would have made me more confident. Of course, there are pros and cons
